I've moved!

Nothing but tumbleweeds here. I've moved to missohkay.wordpress.com. You will be redirected!

Doggone it - people like me!

I'm a winner! Thanks to the lovely ladies at Love, Life, and Infertility, PCOSChick, and Mrs. Brightside for giving me a fabulous blog award.

Now to follow the rules (sort of). Here are seven random things about me:

1. I hated it when everyone did the "25 random things about me" on FB and then wrote totally lame things like: I love my kids. My husband is nice. Wow, that's so random! I never would have guessed that your job is boring and your favorite food is pizza! So instead, I wrote things like...

2. I used to have tonsils but now I don't. I didn't have them removed either - my doctor told me that "sometimes tonsils just melt away."

3. If you play any key on the piano, I can tell you what note it is without looking. I don't exactly have "perfect pitch" because I can't do it with any other instrument, but I can probably do this with piano because...

4. I took piano lessons from age 6 to 22. I still play pretty well. You wouldn't want to buy tickets to see me or anything, but I can bust out some Chopin when the occasion calls for it (which, granted, isn't all that often).

5. I read 30 books in 2010. I usually try to read the classics (in between the "fluff") but only managed 3 last year - Uncle Tom's Cabin, Vanity Fair, and Lolita.

6. I love games and am pretty competitive. I can tone it down now - I even suggest that we don't keep score sometimes (!) But when I was a kid, I was convinced that our Monopoly computer game cheated in my sister's favor, so I made us switch names as an experiment. (I might have been a tad bossy - older sister syndrome.) She still won and refused to play it with me ever again.

7. I grew up in a house where a girl was killed a century ago. The story is that her father got mad because she was pregnant and unwed, and he pushed her down the stairs. I don't know if it's really true, but we do have in our attic a picture of the funeral that was held in our living room. My room was her room, so maybe her ghost is haunting my uterus. Hmm...

Now is the part where I award 15 other bloggers, but that seems like a lot of work and kind of boring for you readers, so I'll just share a handful of my favorite blogs (aside from the 3 named above, which I also faithfully read and enjoy!). You all can choose to be awarded if you want. But the real prize is being my favorite blogs, right?
